  1. Tribes in Mind

attempts to apply the seductive polyphonic singing from Forest People sometimes referred to as the ‘Pygmies’ into Jazz progression, backing vocals and counterpoints, while centring the question of Home and how do we deal away from where we call home – one of the essential interrogation we face today in relation to social issues. My intention here is to blend Tribes In Mind with celebration of togetherness, while attempting to address daily cries into care, acceptance and joy for all social actors in the world.

Lyrics

Verse I
He left all behind
Carrying away his tribes in mind
Never to return again
Silenced by the storms
Claiming his home through crazy crazy longing
Never change your world in mind

Verse II
Always sat alone
I’m begging Kaber to share his emptiness
To feel his tribes and spread his world
Home away from home
Bring up your heart and learn from where you are standing
But Never change your world in mind

Chorus
Home is the place we tribe our people
Home is the chance to cry together
Home is your people – not a place
In the sharing world

When we gather together is home
Share your tribes away from home
Seek to share the stars in your darkness
In the sharing world

Lead vocals (canticle)
Kaber left his sacred home
Sudden trials that changed his life
Shouting the floods and claiming his home

Never change your tribes in mind

Home is the place we tribe our people
Home is the chance to cry together
Home is your people – Not a place

Never change your tribes in mind

Forgotten fields he missed for years
Tears on the ground, his tribes in mind
Bring up your heart and learn from home

Never change your world in mind

Home is the place we tribe our people
Home is the chance to cry together
Home is your people – Not a place

Never change your tribes in mind
